Hey all, I just bought a Ludwig "Black Magic" snare drum. It's an 8X14, 10 lug, nickel over brass drum with diecast hoops and Puresound snares. It's finished in black chrome (black nickel). This drum sounds fantastic! The brass
I traded a 1980's 22" Zildjan medium ride, and a Pearl marching snare drum for a 6 x14 Pearl snare drum and a 5x14 Ludwig snare. That Ludwig seems to have more attack and pop than my Pearl snare, my Sonor, snare my Premier snare I gave my Tama snare
Who here still uses metal snares and if so why ? And some people like them over wood.
